ワイナリーについて
クレール家がフランス革命後売りに出されていたシャトーを買い取り、その地名であった「ミロン」をシャトー名にしたのが由来。1855年の格付けの際には、有力なメドックのシャトーの中でも際立った評価を受け、その後1970年にシャトーのポテンシャルを見てとったバロン・フィリップ・ド・ロートシルトの所有になりました。ラベルに描かれているイラストはムートンのコレクションで、17世紀のコメディアン・デラルテをかたどった金細工からとられています。

Clerc Milon, a legendary terroir, two prestigious neighbours and a providential encounterThe history and the success of Chateau Clerc Milon, 1855 Grand Cru Class?, are summed up in these three words. The terroir is that of Pauillac, where some of the world's finest wines are made. Its 41-hectare vineyard is located on the hillside of Mousset, overlooking the Gironde River, and thus benefits from an ideal microclimate. Its soil is made up of deep sandy gravel on a clay-limestone subsoil which outcrops on the eastern part of the estate. The neighbours are Mouton Rothschild and Lafite Rothschild, illustrious First Growths whose nearby vines can be seen from the terrace of the Chateau.
